Recently, exciting news has come from the medium-voltage 13.8KV switchgear project tailor-made by our company for a U.S. customer - a total of 5 sets of switchgear (3 units for generators) have successfully completed power-on commissioning, and all performance indicators have met the design requirements, marking the official put-into-operation of the project. The successful power-on of this project not only provides a solid guarantee for the stable operation of the customer's power system, but also further consolidates our company's competitiveness in the North American medium-voltage power equipment market.
As a mature market for power industry development globally, the United States has extremely strict requirements on the safety, reliability and energy efficiency standards of power equipment. The undertaken medium-voltage 13.8KV switchgear project is mainly used for power distribution and control of the customer's generator system, and is the core equipment to ensure the stable output of generators and realize efficient power dispatching. At the beginning of the project, our company established a special team composed of technical experts, project management and after-sales service personnel, who in-depth studied the U.S. IEEE standards and the customer's specific technical specifications, and carried out customized scheme design combined with the characteristics of generator operating conditions.
During the project implementation process, the team strictly followed the international high-end power equipment manufacturing process, and implemented refined control in every link from core component procurement to production assembly and factory inspection. For key indicators such as insulation performance and short-circuit breaking capacity of 13.8KV medium-voltage equipment, the technical team conducted multiple rounds of simulation tests and optimizations, and adopted new insulation materials and modular design, which not only improved the impact resistance of the equipment, but also simplified the on-site installation and commissioning process. During the on-site installation and commissioning phase, our company's technical service team overcame challenges such as cross-timezone collaboration and complex on-site working conditions, and worked closely with the customer's engineering team to formulate a detailed power-on commissioning plan. From equipment wiring inspection, insulation resistance testing to no-load test, load operation and other links, team members strictly implemented in accordance with operating procedures to ensure that each step was accurate and correct. After several days of intense commissioning, all 5 sets of switchgear successfully achieved stable power-on. The power output by the generator was efficiently distributed to the subsequent system through the equipment, with stable operating parameters, which was highly recognized by the customer.
